our Year 5 pupils enjoyed a fantastic residential trip to the Isle of Wight, linking closely with our Geography topic on coastal erosion. After arriving as foot passengers in Yarmouth, we walked to Freshwater Bay before climbing up to Tennyson Monument to take in the spectacular coastal views. We then continued to our base at the Youth Hostel in Totland, with time to explore Totland Bay in the evening. On the second day, we walked through Headon Warren to the Needles, heading down to the beach to observe the famous cliffs and coastal features before enjoying a boat trip around the Needles themselves. The children also experienced the chairlift back to the top and had time to enjoy the attractions at the Needles Pleasure Park. Following a well-earned fish and chips supper, we rounded off the trip with another visit to Totland Bay. On our final day, we walked through Fort Victoria Country Park and followed the coast back to Yarmouth, taking part in beach-combing activities along the way. Throughout the trip, the children demonstrated excellent behaviour, resilience and enthusiasm, making us incredibly proud of the way they represented the school.
