Keeping children safe online – updated guidance
The DfE has updated guidance for parents and carers about keeping children safe online. New information on apps has been added.
The BBC have a website and app called Own It. The website has a lot of content for children to help them navigate their online lives, and the free smartphone app comes with a special keyboard which can intervene with help and support in the moments that children need it the most.
SafeToNet is an app for parents to help them safeguard their children from online risks like cyberbullying and sexting, whilst respecting their child’s rights to privacy. The SafeToNet Foundation is providing UK families with free access to 1 million licences during coronavirus.
ONLINE SAFETY: With many learning resources being made freely available online, we hope that this document contains links that will help parents, carers and children access them safely. Posted 6th April 2020.
We have been shared this helpful booklet that explains about Coronovirus in a child friendly way. Please share it with your children if you feel it would help them.
Please see the latest government advice for schools:
People who have a new, persistent (dry) cough, and/or a temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius, or above, and those who live with someone showing symptoms are being asked to stay at home for fourteen days (ten school days).
People with symptoms are no longer required to call 111, as the system is over-busy, but are urged to look on the NHS website and 111 online.
If your child, or anyone in your household has the above symptoms, please keep them home for ten school days and contact the school office to report that this is what you are doing.

Welcome to Weston All Saints Church of England Primary School (WASPS) on the Web!
Here you will find out about what we’ve been doing recently, information about the school and all the important dates you need for your diary.
WASPS is a Church of England Academy with close links to All Saints Church in Weston, on the outskirts of Bath.
In 2018 we became part of The Bath and Mendip Partnership Trust. More information can be found on the Trust website, by clicking here. Being part of a Multi-Academy Trust means we work very closely with other local schools to continue to drive up standards for all our children.
