School Council

The School Council is a democratically formed group that meets regularly to discuss the school, initiatives and events. It is an opportunity for children to share their ideas and points of view to make improvements to the school and the way we do things at WASPS.

Every year classes vote for one person to representative to represent their class’s views at meetings. They also then feedback to their class on any discussion that took place at the School Council meeting.

The School Council decides which charities school events (such as non-uniform days) will support and work with the PTA in their fundraising. The School Council works with other groups and teachers to improve the experience of children at WASPS – for example coming up with ideas to provide improve playtimes.

Members of the School Council have worked alongside the Leadership Team to provide pupil voice to the school’s recruitment process – using their insightful questions and astute evaluations to feedback on what they think is best for the school.
