Online Safety

At WASPS, staff, teachers and parents work together to keep our pupils safe online, both at school and at home.

Online safety is a crucial component of our curriculum in school and it is explicitly taught as part of our PSHE and Computing curriculums. We refresh our understanding of e-safety every term through a special assembly. In addition, we offer workshops for children throughout the year during which we invite experts from organisations such as the Police to talk to children about how they can ensure they are safe online.

Here is our Online Safety Policy

Our commitment to online safety extends beyond delivering a clear and consistent message to children about the dangers and best practice in terms of staying safe online. We also offer parent workshops and information sessions to ensure that parents, as our most important partners in terms of keeping children safe online, have access to the same information that is taught in school.

We strongly believe that parents are the single most important resource a child has, and want to support you.  We strongly recommend that parents monitor their children’s activity on the Internet, especially as many have access to personal connected devices like phones, gaming consoles, tablets and Smartwatches.

Please as parents, carers and family members do check our Signposting links pages for more information, guidance and tips to protect your children when they are online at home.
